Way back in March...

At the very end of March, Michael Buble came to Salt Lake. I was lucky enough to be presented with tickets to go! So excited!! I have to say it was probably the funnest concert I have been to. (Considering the fact I have only been to one other concert...but still. It was amazing!) The lighting, the backdrops, the music. It was amazing! I had such a fun time! For Christmas I got his new album, so I spent the months prior to his concert listening to the CD so that I would recognize all the music. It worked, and I loved every minute of it. We had pretty great seats. We were on the balcony, but in the front row so noone was in front of us. This way, we were able to see the entire stage and could see Michael pretty darn good.

This was the stage as you first walked into the building. The anticipation was killing me!!

Michael in green. It looked like the emerald city. So cool!!

There was a point during the show where he walked down off the stage through the middle of the crowd. He was literally right beneth where we were sitting. That was the best view ever!!
This was the traffic and weather that we were faced with after the concert. It took us about 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot. In the rain. It was crazy!!

Needless to say, it was such a fun night!! He is a great performer and put on a great show. Great show, great company, the entire night was great! I had so much fun!!!

Little get-away

Because I have been home for a while, and because its summer, and because school is almost about to start, m and d and I decided to take a quick trip up to Tahoe. It has been so long since I have been up there...2 years I think. We rented a room in a fun hotel...

It was so fun to go back again! I love it up there, the smell of the trees and the camp fires and wind, listening to the waves on the beach. Its amazing. It was so fun to go back. We walked around the historic houses they have, visited craft fairs, went to the campground we used to stay at when we camped there, went to the beach, relaxed and read, and just had a great time. Here I am at one of the lakes we used to go to a lot when I was little.

Yesterday we spent the whole day at the beach. I am not much for swimming all the way in the water too much, so I settled for just putting my feet in the water. Which, I have to say, was cold at first but then felt awesome. Amazingly enough, I didn't get burned!! I was armed with my SPF 100 though, so I am sure that helped. Thank goodness, I was almost positive I was going to come home looking like a tomato. Here I am with m. Cute beach girls haha.

The Lake!

Soaking my feet in the cold water.

It was such a good two days...I already miss being up there!! Now it officially feels like summer, even though summer is almost over. Hopefully I can make a trip up there again sooner than 2 years!!

Just things...

What has been going on the last month?? It feels like things have been busy, but for some reason I can't think of what has been going on lately!! Just school and more school I suppose? Almost finished with my first externship! One and a half weeks left of that, then its on to the next one. I am really excited about going to a new place, and having new experiences. Hopefully I will have an easier time transitioning than I did for this last one. Cross your fingers!!

The olympics. I love them. I have to say that I watched as much as I possibly could. I don't know what it is about them, but I just think they are so exciting! I don't groove too much on all the ice skating and ice dancing and all the hockey. But I got my share in! I tried to watch as much as I could of everything, to get my fill in for the next two years. I have decided that I like more sports in the summer olympics, but these ones are fun too. And I have decided that Vancouver is beautiful. I could go there.

Unluckily for me, my computer died last night. Apparently water and computers don't mix. Who knew...I am so stinking mad at myself for it too. It was just a dumb accident, but now my computer is dead. As a doornail. Won't even turn on. Ka-put. Joy. Thankfully this didn't happen last semester, when my computer/printing needs were much higher. Still though, I feel completly helpless right now. Luckily C has one that she is going to let me borrow for a bit. Still, doesn't make the frustration I am feeling much better. Thanks C, you are totally awesome!

I have been in and out of cleaning moods lately. Once I get going, I just feel like I need to do more. Suppose thats a good thing, right?? I mean, it probably needs to be done. Spring cleaning, let it begin!! I have found myself making a list of things that need to be cleaned/organized, and things that I want to be cleaned/organized. Can't say that I have ever made myself a list for that before. Should be fun! Plus it always feels nice after you have done with work to have a clean place.

I suppose that kind of wraps things up with me for the moment. I have been visiting C and K and J lately. It is fun to play around :) I have severely lacked in the picture taking department. With not much going on, its hard to take pictures of nothing. My goal for the next while is to take more pictures. Just because. Cross your fingers that it works!!

Relieved

Oh my goodness...test results for the PRAXIS are in. I have been so incredibly nervous about this since I took the test back in January. I walked out of the test feeling not really confident about it, but glad it was over. For some reason it took the company a month to score a scantron test.....anyway, results came back. It took me a while to get the courage up to actually look at how I did. I was really nervous that I didn't pass, which would mean I had to take the test again in March. Crossing my fingers, I opened the document containing my scores. I PASSED!! Woohoo!! I passed the national certification test!! Thank goodness. My school told everyone that they have a 100% passing rate for their students. Instead of being more confident about my abilities, that made me even more nervous, thinking that I would be the one person to take it and fail and make their numbers go down. Thankfully that did not happen!! So now I can relax, and finish out my externships, and be done with the program!!!

Last week was a definite improvement from the week before. Each of my working days was good, and I did not feel anxious or nervous or intimidated at all. It was wonderful!! I felt, for the first time in 4 weeks, that I might actually be able to do this job. I think that when I graduate and get a job of my own, and have my own programs and things to work with, I will actually enjoy the job more than I am right now (walking in in the middle of the year into someone else's program and way of doing things and having to adapt to that for ten weeks). I think I might be able to do this! That is a really good feeling!

In other good news....the Olympics are starting in three days!! So excited to watch them. I love the olympics for some reason. Its the only time I watch and have an interest in some of these sports. I love it!! You can bet I will be up Friday night watching!!!

Weekend Fun

Life has been different lately. Into week 4 of my externship. I suppose you could say I am getting more comfortable where I am at. It helps to have a set schedule of my own things to do, but I am at three schools and I only have a set schedule at one. That means at the other two, I don't really have my own "place". I had a few bad days last week, which have made me a bit hesitant to go back. I just am going to keep pushing through it and it will be fine, right?

Weather lately has been....on and off. Snowy and rainy, then sunny and beautiful. I am so ready for spring!!! This weekend C and I went shopping. I got a killer deal on movies. 4 movies for 8 bucks! Woohoo!!! I also have been in the market for a new skirt or dress for graduation. I found this one at a local store, and couldn't decide whether or not I like it. Its definitely different than my normal style, that's for sure. The more I look at this picture though, the more I am beginning to like it. Still can't decide if I should get it, or just wait and hold out for something else. What do you think??

We went to the basketball game last night. It was definitely an exciting game!! Some people thought I would be torn over who to cheer for, the cougs or the utes. But really, there wasn't any question in my mind!! I may be a ute now, but will always be a true blue coug!!! It was fun to enter the packed basketball stadium and cheer on the cougs to an exciting exciting victory!!! I have decided that I really miss going to games like I did when I was a student. They were pretty darn fun. Oh the good old days.... :)

Back in the swing of things

Realizing I have not really posted anything since before Thanksgiving...I decided it was time!! Thanksgiving was great, everyone came up and we had lots of good food and good times. Here I am, with my pies. They were yummy!

While everyone was here, J was blessed. It was really a special time for us all.

After Thanksgiving, school finished up with finals and projects and papers and whatnot. It was kind of crazy, but somehow I was able to get through everything! Can't believe I finished up my 2nd to last semester of school. Crazy! I got to go home for three weeks, which was fantastic! A very much needed break!!! Much of my time spent at home looked like this:

Foggy! Can you believe it? Crazy! Not only that, but the week before I got there, they got about 6 inches of snow. Again, crazy!! They had more there than up here which is SO not normal, but fun at the same time. I spent lots of time helping m and d, relaxing, visiting old friends, and just being. It was great. C, P, K, C, and J all came down for a week and a half and for Christmas. So fun when we are all able to get together.

notice her pile? notice mine? yeah...
*the above picture is just for fun, not meant to be taken seriously*

Christmas was great. I got a stinking cute red coat which I love, and among other things, my blog made into a book. How cool is that?!

The beautiful Christmas tree. I love this tree so much!! It is perfect.

M got us these slipper sock things for Christmas. They are really fun to wear, even though they all say mine make me look like I have big bird feet based on their color....

Auntie E and J. We have fun together hanging out. Its crazy that he is getting bigger every time I see him. Stinkin cutie!!!

New Years was fun. We had tons of great food, stayed up and played games and watched movies, watched the local fireworks (gotta love fireworks!!) and stayed up to ring in the new year. It was pretty fun.

My three week break was cut somewhat short due to studying for my big comprehensive test I had to take the day after I got back (this test is required to graduate as well as to become nationally certified for my profession...no pressure right??). I studied like crazy at home, and never really felt prepared for it. The test was on saturday and needless to say I was pretty darn nervous. I really don't know how I did. It was all multiple choice, thank goodness. Still, it takes 4 weeks to get the results. Really? really? Oh well I suppose. We shall see what happens in a months time. As for now, I am just super glad its over with!!!

Good job flowers

The new semester started yesterday. This semester is spent not at the clinic, but at externships. Very exciting and somewhat nervous as well. I am so far enjoying my first placement, its gone well and the people I work with are really nice and supportive. Cross your fingers it continues to go well! I do have one class this semester, which is a night class. That stinks but is what I have to do so here we go! As for right now, I am feeling as if I have a little more time on my hands instead of being constantly doing school stuff. We will see how long that lasts....right now I am enjoying it and enjoying being at a location other than the school clinic!!

Done!

Done with another semester!! This one seemed to drag on forever! Thankfully I was able to get through all the tests, papers, projects, and clinic. It was a good semester I think, just very long. Bring on Christmas break!! I was able to come home last week, and get to stay for a few. IT will be nice and relaxing I am sure!! I can't believe that Christmas is two days away. It definitely does not feel like it is that time again! I am ready for family, great food, fun candy, and seeing old friends. Should be a great break!! Merry Christmas!!
